First and foremost I am a self-proclaimed geek. I currently teach 8th grade Global Studies in St. Michael-Albertville, MN. I began teaching in the fall of 2007 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. For the first six years of my career I taught US History. In addition to teaching, I also coach the 9th/10th grade girl’s soccer team, the middle school track team, and I help coordinate our school’s WEB program. I am constantly on the search for new ways to engage my students and to prepare them for their future in an uncertain world and I am always open to new ways to collaborate, share, and discuss.
Thoughts from an 8th grade social studies teacher on learning, teaching, and technology integration.
